Since 1999 formed from collective passion
The Open Sky Creative Society (OSCS) is based in Fort Simpson (Liidlii Kue) in the Dehcho region, located in Canada’s Northwest Territories. The society was formed in 1999 from the collective passion of local artists and arts supporters to bring artists together and foster art, cultural traditions and creative expression in the community.
Known for its annual summer festival, OSCS has grown yearly to embrace a variety of methods of fostering the arts, from workshops and gallery events to providing space for community gatherings.

Interested In Joining Our Festivals?
From its inception, the Open Sky Creative Society has held an annual summer festival in late June or early July on the flats at the confluence of the Liard and Mackenzie Rivers in Fort Simpson. This annual event hosted a series of workshops, musical performances, craft vendors and artists’ demonstrations.
